September 2023 - Heroes of Hope UAE

The MAHA Foundation made grants to Heroes of Hope, a UAE charity that provides valuable sporting activities/outlets for children of determination. Both grants were made under the Where Do The Children Play happiness grant.

Heroes of Hope Awards

The MAHA Foundation made a grant of USD$2.7k to fund trophies and medals.

Heroes of Hope Basketball Kits

The MAHA Foundation made a grant of USD$550 to purchase basketball kits for the Heroes of Hope children.

The inaugural MAHA Foundation SPECS Camp

August 2023

The first MAHA Foundation S.P.E.C.S. Camp was held in Bentota in Sri Lanka with a USD$7.5k healthcare grant in honour of Saroj Patel.

June 2023

The MAHA Foundation donated USD$2.5k to provide families living in poverty with a few months of essential food supplies. In addition, USD$500 was provided to supply geometry sets and books to children in need.  The MAHA Foundation is grateful to Bentota Travel Mart for their assistance with local procurement of food items and transportation on the ground.

June 2023

The MAHA Foundation made a donation of USD$2k for the provision of books, pens, and a book bag each to 120 children in need in Sri Lanka. Children were nominated by teachers based upon their domestic situation.

New Music Programme

Luther King Mahalingham, Junior Council Member, established a new music program at the Rainbow Centre School in Sri Lanka. This was facilitated by donations of equipment from the Chalmers family, Amira Fouad and also a MAHA Foundation Happiness Grant of USD$1k.

March 2023

The MAHA Foundation, with support from Liz Mendel, has made a donation of USD$500 to enable a sixteen year old girl to
undertake additional travel and tuition classes in accountancy. The individual, who lost their father in a terrible accident, is studying hard towards a career that will help improve the life of her family.

Quarterly Food Bank

The MAHA Foundation provided 2-3 months of essential food and pharmaceutical supplies to 120 families in need in Bentota (USD$2k).  The MAHA Foundation is grateful to Bentota Travel Mart for their assistance with local procurement of food items and transportation on the ground.

Where Do The Children Play Small Grant - January 2023

The MAHA Foundation made a small grant of USD$200 to a Bentota Kindergarten with twenty children from impoverished backgrounds. This enabled the Kindergarten to build a swing for the children to play on alongside the existing roundabout. Pictures of the swing will be posted here once it is complete. An additional donation was made to provide and install safety grates to another kindergarten.
